Holiday in The Netherlands

After our plane got cancelled in Norway because of a storm, we finally got to the airport in Amsterdam November the first. There our good friends from kennel Ala D'Oro: Tina and Jaap picked us up to go to their house in Zuidermeer.

We have had a really good time visiting them, here are some of the interesting activities we have done while we where in Holland! We have been to Volendam, a little fishing town. There where a lot of tourists, fish and original Volendammer clothes, witch's of course we had to put on when our special photo was taken! We visited Ingrid and Do with their beautiful Frisian horses. I also get the pleasure to ride on them and even get some dressage lessons by Ingrid! That was an experience I will remember very well. In the afternoon Ingrid and Falco, her stallion Falco had to perform in dressage, where she ended third place! Thank you Ingrid and Do for letting us visit you and the horses. Next day we went hunting, in the North of Holland in a place called Apelscha (Drenthe), Jaap has his own hunting fields there. With his gun and two dogs, Motje and Pebbles we enter the fields. Unfortunately there wasn't any bird to shoot this day but we do saw many deer track. We had a very good time, and the dogs worked very well in the field. At home we got some explanation about guns and shooting. This was good for us because we are quit busy getting our own hunting license at home, so see and hear about the rule and regulations in Holland is interesting. Monday we travelled by train to Amsterdam to have a closer look at this BIG city. Our very special tourist guides, Tina and Jaap led us through all the special tourist stuff like the flowers marked, Royal Palace, and tour around the canals with a boat, and at this trip we saw a lot of origins things in Amsterdam. We saw the house of where Anne Frank lived, to mention one thing. And we did some shopping, of course! Even went to the biggest store of all "de Bijenkorf", very famous in Amsterdam…and even in the rest of Holland! Tuesday evening, the day before we were leaving, we went to see four weeks old puppies at kennel Regione Montagnosa . Of course we think they are very beautiful! And we wish them all the best for the future.

This has been a great holiday, and we are so happy to know Tina and Jaap. Thank you so much for taking so good care of us, and you know that you always are welcome to visit us in Norway!
